Cable Fault Burning Unit is used to convert high resistance fault into low resistance fault. It is used for both the High Voltage as well as Low Voltage cables. It delivers the energy surge necessary to breakdown faults present in joints and terminations. It ignites an arc at the fault which gives a transient or a travelling wave between the insulation and the fault and with the help of TDR we can find the distance of fault.
